Sensex Today: On Wednesday, the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex opened about 50 points higher, at 65,829 levels, bucking market weakness worldwide. On the other hand, the Nifty50 rose 10 points to a price of 19,585 levels.
The Nifty MidCap100, meanwhile, set a new record high of 40,368.65 in early transactions, maintaining the broader markets’ advantage over their frontline peers. It increased by 0.6%.
The Nifty SmallCap 100 also saw a 0.4% increase in trading volume on Wednesday.
Sector-wise, the Nifty Pharma and IT indices increased by 0.3%, while the Nifty Bank and Metal indices decreased by as much as 0.9%.
